For accessing the G0GRC Grantham Link between YSF and DMR networks
🧭 Overview
The Grantham Link connects:
- DMR Talk Group:
TG853 - YSF Reflector:
21982 (G0GRC)
This link allows DMR and Yaesu Fusion (C4FM) users to communicate with each other seamlessly.
⚠️ Note:
Access is currently available only via personal hotspots in the Grantham area, unless you are connected to another DMR repeater carrying TG853.
🔧 Setup for Yaesu Fusion Radios (C4FM)
Step 1 – Enable YSF Mode in Pi-STAR
- Log into your Pi-STAR configuration page.
- Under Modes, turn YSF Mode ON.
- Click Apply Changes.

💡 Tip:
This saves you from having to manually enter the YSF ID in your radio later.
Step 2 – Select the Reflector
- In the YSF Host List, search for: YSF21982 GB G0GRC
- Set this as your Startup Reflector.
- Click Apply Changes again to save.

Step 3 – Connect from Your Yaesu Radio
- Tune your radio to the hotspot frequency in C4FM mode.
- Press PTT briefly to confirm the hotspot is responding.
- Press the Wires-X button.
- If configured correctly, your radio should connect to G0GRC (YSF21982) automatically.
- If not, manually select or enter the reflector ID.
📻 Setup for DMR Radios
Step 1 – Confirm DMR Network
In Pi-STAR, ensure the selected DMR network is: FreeSTAR_UnitedKingdom
Step 2 – Configure Your Radio
- Set your radio to the hotspot frequency.
- Select Talk Group 853 (TG853).
- Press PTT to confirm the hotspot is being accessed.
💡 Tip:
You should see transmission activity on your Pi-STAR dashboard when connected.
✅ Confirming Your Connection
You can confirm your link status and activity via the YSF Dashboard:
Check that your callsign appears when you transmit on either DMR TG853 or YSF 21982.
